1100 Watt Inverter $125
Group 24 AGM Battery $300
(in-store price is often lower)
2 x 6 Volt golfcart batteries (210 Ahr)… I normally buy these from Island Batteries but Costco sometimes has a good deal (click "Search Other" > Golf Cart > Find Batteries) $400-500
red and black solar panel cables $50 per pair
optional 30-55 Amp Iota DLS charger (for faster charging via generator or grid) $300
These all-in-one systems have become relatively inexpensive so here are some options. The benefit is having all the components packaged together. That's also a problem, in case one component fails. The main risk is the battery… Though they are often rated for thousands of cycles, we don't need thousands of cycles. We want a battery with a long shelf life. A high quality battery may last over 5 years but cheaper ones often die within 2-3 years even if rarely used. Buyer beware. The main reason I list these models is that Costco does a relatively good job of researching for better quality items and they often have superior warranty service. For larger system I recommend building from separate components.
